Jake + Erica Stahlschmidt | June 5, 2020

Updated: Mar 28, 2021

A beautiful lake side elopement. Covid did not win here, Love won! Not a cloud in the sky, just the evening sun and nature all around. Elopements are true and dear to my heart as they are very romantic, less worry, and can happen in the most amazing places.

Jake and Erica love fishing and being outdoors in nature. You can tell these two love birds are in their element as they go fishing on their wedding day. Erica even catch a fish! But unfortunately it got off at the bank. Dang it! That would have made for a great photo of the bride and a personally catch fish!

The venue is Sportsmen Lake; a private lake located in Wellsville, MO. The lake is beautiful! It was very quite, calm, and relaxing. A vibrant blue/green cast in the lake was pretty, not a muddy brown/green color that we can see around this area a lot. The couple picked this location as they are members and come here to fish all the time. What better place to get married than a place you enjoy most of your time and reflects your relationship perfectly!

Jake handcrafted the archway they placed by the lake front to get married under. But the story about this archway is even more heart warming. Erica has a porch swing from her grandfather. The one she use to sit with him when she was a child. This archway will make for a permanent resting place for that very swing! Now Erica and her family can sit and have many more happy memories in the swing that brought her so much joy as a child for many years to come. Awe this is just the sweetest! Pulled on the heart strings a little.

It was my pleasure to be a part of Mr. & Mrs. Stahlschmidt's love story. Their love reflects beautifully in their photos. I had fun and enjoyed the lovely evening. It started out hot but as the sun was setting it turned out to be a wonderful evening over the breathtaking lake.
